- You may not get AA if you are in hospital or residential care
- AA is not affected by savings
- AA is not usually affected by other money you have coming in
- If you are under 65, you should claim Disability Living Allowance
How to claim
Telephone 0800 882 200 and ask for an Attendance Allowance form
Staff are usually good and will check you are asking for the correct form
It is strongly recommended that the form is filled in with the help of experienced staff at an Oxfordshire carers' centre or advice centre. This will take about two hours and an appointment is recommended. Please check that the advice centre near you has experience of disability benefits.
Use the Oxfordshire Gateway to find an advice centre near you.
Getting this benefit may mean that your carer can claim Carer's Allowance.
