Physical disabilities
You may be caring for someone who needs help because they have a physical disability.
These are some of the issues you may want help with:
Local support
- Oxfordshire carers' centres and Carers' Forum
- Oxfordshire County Council
If the person you care for is under 16 you may be able to get help from Oxfordshire County Council's Children, Young People and Families team.
Young people aged 14 to 18 with disabilities should receive an integrated assessment by care managers to identify needs and form the basis of a care plan for the transition to adulthood. See contact details for Oxfordshire County Council below.
See the Contact a Family website for a fact sheet about transition plans.
If the person you care for is 18 and over, you can get help from Oxfordshire County Council's Social and Community Services team.
